The Itanhaém River is one of the most beautiful and extensive ones of the Paulista shores (Paulista - from the State of São Paulo). Formed by its tributary rivers such as the rich waters from the White River and the clear waters from the White River, it is a sheltering place, a sanctuary for birds and fish with its marsh and forests along its banks.

It's the most important river in the city which the estuary is located between the Sapucaitava Hill and the white sands of the Downtown Beach. The river has many fishing spots (fishingrods are allowed - fishnets are strictly forbidden - Forestall Police surveillance to protect the Atlantic Forest). The tourists can take a boat ride towards the sea or the rural areas.

The ones choosing to take a boat ride towards the rural areas, will be taken to the Country Club and the Rio Acima Chapel, amazing places surrounded by the Atlantic Forest. The local Fishermen's Warf, Small Port or Portinho in Portuguese, is very traditional in the region. There you can find all kinds of fresh fish; fishing goods stores and marinas located nearby. Tourists can rent boast to visit the islands or the waterfalls hidden among the deep valleys surrounded by the heights of the Sea Mountain Range. Extraordinary panoramas towards the forest and the Mountains.
